What helps us when you call
- What you are seeing, and where in the house you are seeing it
- Whether it follows particular weather — wind from one direction, heavy rain, or a thaw after snow
- Roughly how old the roof is, if anyone knows
- Whether the house is one storey or two, and whether the roof is steep
- Whether a storm has been through since you last looked at it
- Your address and the best number to reach you on
None of it is required. Ring and say there is a stain on the ceiling and that is plenty to be going on with — the rest gets worked out on the roof, the way it always has been.
Having it to hand simply gets us to the right answer faster, and now and then it saves you the visit altogether.
If you are ringing after a storm
The phone gets busy for a few days after wind or hail has been through the county, and we would rather be straight with you about how that works than let you sit by a silent handset.
Anything with water actively entering a house goes to the front of the queue, at whatever hour it comes in. Assessments of damage that is not letting water in are booked in the order they are asked for, and that can mean a few days rather than a few hours. Nothing about hail bruising or a creased tab gets worse for waiting a week, so there is no advantage in being told otherwise by somebody knocking on your door in the meantime.
If you leave a message in that period, leave your address as well as your number. It lets Crown Point Roofing Company group the visits by street and get round everybody considerably faster.

Do you charge to come out and look?
You are told what a visit involves when you book it, and you get the price for any work in writing before it starts. Nothing is done to your roof without your say-so.
Can I send you photographs?
Yes, and for a small question it sometimes saves everybody a trip. Take them from the ground or a window rather than from a ladder — a photograph is not worth a fall.
